Terms of Service

• "Service" means the My Asset Safe digital estate vault platform.
• "User", "you" means the person who creates and uses an account.
• "Beneficiary" means a person you nominate to receive access to your vault after verified death.
• "Vault" means the encrypted collection of records you store using the Service.
• "We", "us", "our" means My Asset Safe, the operator of the Service.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice on this page.

You may only use the Service if you:

• Are at least 18 years old.
• Are a resident of the United Kingdom.
• Have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
• Are not prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and your multi-factor authentication device. We enforce multi-factor authentication (TOTP) for all accounts.

Access to your vault is protected by your sign-in credentials and multi-factor authentication, and your records are encrypted with keys that are unlocked after you authenticate. If you lose access to your sign-in credentials or your authenticator device, recovery options are limited by design, so keep them safe.

The Service is provided on a paid subscription basis at £6 per month, or the equivalent annual rate. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically on your billing date until you cancel.

You may cancel at any time through the billing portal. On cancellation the Service remains available until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are offered for partial periods.

Unpaid accounts enter a 30 day grace period. If payment is not restored, the account is suspended and then purged after 90 days in line with the Privacy Policy.

You must not:

• Use the Service to store content that is unlawful, obscene, or infringes the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Use automated means to interact with the Service except through APIs we explicitly provide.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to a beneficiary.

Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

You retain all rights to the content you store in your vault. You grant us a limited licence to store, encrypt, and process that content solely to provide the Service to you and your beneficiaries.

The Service itself, including the software, design, and branding, remains our intellectual property. You may not copy or redistribute it.

On your death, nominated beneficiaries may raise a death claim. We apply a multi-step verification workflow including identity verification, death certificate review, a 14 day cooling-off period, secondary beneficiary confirmation, and administrator review. Only after all steps have passed will the escrowed vault master key be decrypted and access granted.

You acknowledge that this workflow is designed to protect against fraud and may take several weeks to complete. We are not liable for delays caused by incomplete verification or missing documents.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the total subscription fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of data caused by your own actions, or any loss resulting from delayed or failed death claims where verification requirements were not met.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

You may terminate your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we cease to offer the Service (with at least 90 days notice).

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
